Get Started with Personal Training

How many times have you said to yourself?:  “I really want to get in at least 2-3 good workouts a week” and then it just doesn’t happen. You check your email, do some work, your kid has a melt down, oh and read that Facebook article, then oops!  Your workout window has now passed.

No one is perfect, and life happens. This is why having a designated time and place for your workout helps keep you on track. And the best part? I’m there to hold you accountable.

Curious what kind of training is right for you?

I offer many styles of training including cardiovascular,  strength, core, flexibility, balance (fall prevention), specialized populations such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Spinal Cord Injury Recovery (SCI), Pre/Post-natal, sports specific, injury recovery (Post- rehab). A long list because I’ve been doing this for every 15 years and I’ve taken a lot of ongoing education. That being said, I work regularly with these clients, so don’t fear — you’re in safe hands.

Looking for Injury recovery training?

As a certified personal trainer I contribute in a significant and unique way to recovery and rehabilitation efforts. Ever left the PT office and thought, now what? Yup, you’re not alone. It’s often our responsibility to pick up where physical therapy leaves off. We will work with your Physical Therapist, and guide you during your post-rehab training process.

Pilates — The “core workout” everyone should be doing.

Pilates aims for an elegant economy of movement, creating flow through the use of appropriate transitions. Each exercise builds into each other in order to build strength and stamina. For more information, I go into more depth on “What is Pilates” in this blog article here.

Looking for Suspension Training, otherwise known as TRX? I fondly refer to this as “The T-REX.”

TRX is in the field of suspension training and is a form of resistance training that includes bodyweight exercises and which a variety of multi planner, compounded exercise movements can be performed. These are done with the aim of developing strength, balance, flexibility, and joint stability. The TRX is also a portable piece of equipment and can be brought and you safely to any home.
